Thrips are more common than you would think! They can be quite difficult to get rid of, they thrive by sucking the sap out of your plants!
We recommend, at first sight, or suspicion of thrips, to use Blue sticky traps and monitor daily. Other sign to look out for is silvery stained sheen on the surface of the leaves.
They can be tiny winged insects (measuring in the millimetres) or be small and can be very difficult to spot.
If not treated properly, they will be persistent pain and even run into the next cycle. If not eliminated early, they can significantly reduce yields.
The best way is to never have an infestation in the first place. Make sure that you thoroughly sanitise your growing space before you begin. This means not only keeping the place spotless but removing all dead plant matter.
